I thought this part of the beach was clothing optional

I love beach but I am sensitive to sun. So I went to the beach in the morning. I read about this beach I thought that that was the right place. So I landed not far from the entrance, went to swim, strolled back and forth etc. Originally I was the first on the beach. Then various people started to show up. But .... non of them stripped! I thought because it was clothing optional. And then a woman comes up trying to look me in the eyes and says that the nude beach is that direction. Oops.
