So recently Ive been attending a Oneness Pentecostal, where as I grew up Trini all my life. And not to say my Trini church were void of weirdness and cult like practices...but it was a bit different than what Im experiencing now.

Particularly when it comes to someone accepting Jesus.

Any time this happens, they gather in a HUGE circle around the person or child...and they "pray through" until that person is "speaking in tongues."

Can anyone who has been through this explain exactly whats going on? Its one of the weirder aspects and still baffles me. It upsets me as well as I see this, supposedly these people have spoken in tongues and now are saved...but the following service theyre back to the same person they were before. Not necessarily a bad person, just non tongue speaking, not necessarily seeking MORE, etc etc.

Anyway, can an ex Apostolic/Oneness member explain this "praying through" method? What happens? Whats the idea behind it? Looking for true answers, not angry ex-pentecostal answers.
