My ex just reached out to me 3 months after we broke up and 2 months of no contact. She wanted to let me know that she's moving away but would still like to be friends and keep each other updated on our lives and stuff. She also told me that she's seeing someone new and while I told her I wish her all the best with her new relationship, I still love her and want her back.

It's only been 3 months since we broke up and she started this new relationship 1 month after the breakup, so I'm finding it really hard to believe she got over us so quickly.

What does this all mean? Does she really just want a genuine friendship? Or am I being stringed along as a backup option?
