The title really says it all. It seems everyone around me does background checks. After I got my conviction I decided to be a stripper and did that for a half a decade. The end result? I’m 26 with no real job experience as prior to being a stripper I ran a horse boarding/lesson facility which isn’t really an in demand field in my area….or like anywhere but a handful of towns in the US. Where I am is actually a pretty competitive job market-I’ve applied for every job a highschool would apply for and have gotten denied. I have extensive experience volunteering as a DSP/residential home manager but the companies around here won’t hire me for that for three more years when my felony is a decade old. In fact I was fired from volunteering when the old supervisor quit and a new one was hired. Really threw for a loop as I was doing for free what they now pay someone $60,000 a year to do and I really just did it because staying busy and feeling useful was basically priceless to me. I’m kinda at a loss what to apply for at this point so I’d love to hear what others did as a job with a felony and limited experience.
