Post Body

Hello everyone, this might seem like an odd post coming out of nowhere, and if it is not allowed I will delete it myself if you wish mods. However, I am making it in hopes that we as a community do not divide ourselves as survivor or demon mains, but as players of this wonderful game. Recently, I got into an argument with another player, who was using things that I said out of context for a post recently. They were trying to gaslight the community, editing their posts to discredit me, and using a quote from me so that it would seem like us Demon Mains want to "slaughter" you survivors just because we don't want AC to be in the game. I am not calling out anyone, and anyone who knows what I'm talking about I ask you do not do the same.

While it is technically true that we want to slaughter you, we are demons after all, I would assume that most of us do not, I DO NOT, want this game to be one sided to the point that one side doesn't have a chance. This game is at its best when both sides struggle for dominance at the same time! When you're attacking the book as Demon, and you get those last minute victories! When you're survivor and you fully resurrect all your fallen teammates after clinching the dagger or lost pages! When both sides don't know if they will succeed or fail!

Survivors, if you're hearing Demons complain about Animation Cancelling (AC), and I'm sure you are hearing it almost hourly, know that we don't say it to take away your ability to fight back. We want it removed because we want you to learn. We want you guys to learn how to work as a team. To start using the Game Chat when you're with randoms to help guide them if you know what to do. To start making friends in this community that'll last longer than the game will. To have those exciting matches where you feel like you earned your victory. But AC is not the way to go about it. If nerfs need to be made, let it be ones that are actually warranted. Not because the game is new and survivors don't have the necessary experience yet. This game is much easier for Demons because we have only ourselves to worry about. If we fail, let it be because you bested us, not because you exploited flaws in the game mechanics.

Demons, if you hear survivors complaining about Eligos' AC with his lightning please know that I stand with them and so should you. If the developers did not intend it, if it breaks the game, or if we know something is truly OP we should want it adjusted accordingly. No double standards here.

Survivors, right now it may feel like Demons are overpowered. Like you can't win. But let me tell you, there are tons of Demons out there that feel the same about you! I will, however, would wager that if there is a win loss ratio out there, that currently it is skewed in the Demon's favor. However, that's because of many reasons. Tons of disconnects as I'm sure you're all aware of. New survivors going lone wolf from the very beginning of the round. New survivors going up against max level Demons. Know, that as you learn the game, as you develop a group or learn how to communicate with your randoms, that this win loss ratio will not break even. It will favor YOU! You the survivors, as you will understand all the tools at your disposal. It happens with every asymmetrical game. Demons, this is okay! Because hopefully it means we will get to the state of where the game truly is and we can start making small adjustments from there. However, if we're all using the crutch of AC as Demons or Survivors, or any other exploits in the game then the Devs will never really know how to truly balance it until they remove it if they decide to.

I suggest that we make a few stickies if the mods would be so wonderful to do so. Ones where new survivors and demons can flock to in order to understand some tips they can follow by more experienced players. The Do's and Do Nots as Demon! The Survivors Necronomiguide to Success! Whatever you want to call them. Something that can serve as a plethora of information in once source that anyone can follow. I feel that could greatly help the community understand their roles faster, and help us skew the gap in win ratio between Demons and Survivors without crying for changes to anything but game breaking bugs and exploits.

But the main reason I made this post. The real reason is that I want us as a community to come together. To enjoy the game as Evil Dead fans or asymmetrical game veterans. As newcomers to the franchise or to asymmetrical games. I want us to thank the devs for making this wonderful game the best way we can by eliminating our toxic traits. I am not saying to stop posting things like "AoD Ash is OP!" or "Warlord puke is broken," I am asking you that when the discussions start that you keep it civilized. That you do not purposely insult, gaslight, or manipulate each other with this "Us vs Them" mentality. Whether you be Demon or Survivor. And when we see people trying to gaslight our community, that we stick together as players of this glorious game and not give into the temptation! I shall step down from my soap box now.

TL;DR In short, let's not fight amongst ourselves. For without Demons or survivors this game would be dead. Let's not insult each other because we wish to discuss possible changes, nerfs, buffs, etc. Let us have a civilized discussion. Not a war between Survivors and Demons. Let not toxicity fester in the wounds of our egos. For Demons! For Survivors! For Pablo's rusty chain yo!
