Not Using a Porter for 3 Passes Trek
Post Body

Maybe it is an unreasonable amount of pride, but I struggle with the idea of someone carrying my pack for me.

Has anyone done the Three Passes Trek while carrying their own pack with a trekking company? Perhaps paying for a porter and trying not to use them? I feel like that is the least I could try to do given that the people of Nepal are willing to let a odd-looking stranger like me come tromp around their home.

On the other hand, perhaps I am just risking my own safety and the coherence of the trekking group by even thinking about this.

I guess I would appreciate any thoughts. Thank-you!
