CCP are looking at ways to offer group-level taxation on LP sources, as well as revamping manufacturing taxes to actually mean something.
This would have massive impacts across huge swathes of New Eden, including:
Providing HS, LS, and NPC Nullsec groups with new, critical means of funding operations. Being able to encourage lucrative mission blitzing, controlling L5 hubs, and burner missions in order to fund groups means these groups can not be forced to rely on moons and donations, which require scale and increase burnout respectively.
Drastically change dynamics in Faction Warfare. FW groups derive some of the most efficient value out of group income in the game supplying new and casual players with cheap combat ships for Plex fights, and group income for them can make group organization for these groups infinitely less painful as many small FW groups don't have access to other group income sources like R64 moons. It also would efficiently provide a pool of resources to spend on things like upgrading systems, without needing to coordinate what are functionally donations.
Provide significant new incentive for conflict in highsec. As manufacturing hubs become revenue-positive, owning and protecting these hubs becomes valuable.
Of course, CCP could easily mess up by making the systems exploitable, allowing massive groups to collect all LP sources instead of just restricting alliance loyalty to singular groups, or simply failing to deliver on them at all.
And the funniest part is: Nobody would ever know they were even considering these from any of the reddit summaries, discord discussions, or anything else because CCP buried them in the vague "Living Universe" presentation.
