TLDR: help me survive EvE please!!! Teach me your ways of having fun!

I'm gunna be totally honest here I have been playing this game on and off for almost 4 years, and I still haven't the slightest idea of what I'm doing haha. I have tried almost every way of making isk but I think What is holding me back is my complete and total lack the fundamentals since I tried so hard to make my first billion from mining or trading I never really learned to protect myself I find myself getting gatecamped almost all the time or if I'm unlucky enough to get scrambled I don't even try and just accept my fate. Not having any real experience in PvP or proper fitting for that matter I find myself not knowing a good way to have fun without the sense of impending doom. So I guess what I'm saying is are there any good guides or videos on the basics of living through a fight or where should I go to learn proper fitting and fighting?
