Rear naked choke hold or both hands wrapped around the neck
Those are my two favorite ways to engage in Breath Play. It takes practice to get it right and slower is better than rushing anything. I've found nestling the wind pipe into the crux of the elbow and using the forearm and bicep in conjunction to constrict and slowly squeeze the carotid and jugular in the prone position is one of the best practices. It allows for good communication between parties and you can really feel your partner to help determine their state of consciousness and comfort.
Another very effective way is pushing up into the carotid and jugular bracing and balancing but not squeezing with your hands around their neck. I like to push the knuckles of my pointer fingers into the sides of the neck and monitor their state as I am ravishing their body. The tough part is if they lose consciousness, it can be like the Eiffel Tower coming down. Be prepared for a limp body and make sure there are no injuries from a potential free fall.
