Hi y'all!
I'm planning a trip this August with a rough itinerary of Paris->Bordeaux->Bilbao->Porto.
I've been to Europe and I agree that train, buses and planes are the way to go but for this trip I'm thinking to rent a car when leaving Bordeaux and drive my way into northern Spain and then down to Porto and return the car in Porto.
Is this possible? I heard about crazy fees for returning a car in a different country so I'm trying to find a way to minimize the cost or at the very least to know exactly what I'm getting into.
There are a couple of reason why I want to rent a car instead of grab a train or bus.
- Able to move and leave each city whenever we feel like to and not to be running to catch a train, bus, plane, etc.
- Less time inside an enclosed space
- Able to stop in multiple cities and cool locations between cities.
