I'll be going to the first week of the Olympics in Paris, but first I'll be flying to visit a friend in Zurich the weekend before. I'll have about three full weekdays between my time in Zurich and when I need to arrive in Paris for the games. Would love suggestions for a city or region to visit for these days in between — ideally accessible by train from both Zurich and Paris, as I am a big train buff. Only place that's off my list is south of France, as I'll be going to Provence and Marseille after Paris.
About me: male, in my early 30s, from NYC, will be traveling solo. Enjoy trying great food, exploring cities (especially on a bike), local markets, some outdoorsy stuff like hikes. Not the biggest art museum fan, but I do like cultural events (music, plays). Thanks!
