There are tons of posts asking what the best is, but we don't all have the same criteria, so those have yet to really work for me. Hoping you can help me find something local that suits my needs.
coffee shop:
- adequate seating (I love Farmer's Union and Vero, but too often find myself waiting for a spot to open up)
- access to outlets
- open past 5pm
- atmosphere that's energetic but not chaotic (I know this one's pretty subjective, but I'm aiming for something between library and playground)
Besides Farmer's Union and Vero I have tried Tailored, Dark Pine, 16 Tons, Provisions South, Barry's, Espresso Roma, and probably some I've shamefully forgotten. I thought there'd be a grad student favorite or a remote worker go-to, but maybe I just haven't found it yet.
burger:
- toasty bun (crunch) that's at least decent quality and not the cheapest, driest roll they could find
- a reasonable height
- patty is seasoned, juicy but not dripping in grease
I think the bun thing has been my biggest hangup. Northwest is close. Giant Burger is pretty good. A lot of places seem to have the meat part down but then put it on a dry or soggy bun.
I'm really trying to support local businesses, and you've all been helpful in the past, so I'm hoping you come through for me again. :)
