what do I do if there was a delivery attempted but no response?

So one of my items was tracked on royal mail and I didn't mean that meant I had to open the door for someone or whatever I thought they'd just leave it. This was 2 days ago. I don't know what to do now or if they'll try again. Do I have to go to the post office? This is the first time this has happened to me so no condescending rude responses pls.

Apparently it needed a signature? So will they try again or do I have to contact somebody? They didn't leave a note or anything and it's been one day and I thought they were supposed to try again the next day.
