I ask because the experience with shipping was fine, and the garment looks exactly like the pictures, but it was clearly not laundered thoroughly. It smells terrible and upon handwashing it multiple, a LOT of muck came off; way more than seems reasonable for something that I paid decent money for. I'm almost certain that the smell is old cigarette smell, which I understand isn't uncommon for vintage clothing, but it was so potent that the smell lingered on my arms all day after hand washing it, even though I washed my arms thoroughly multiple times. I still can't get the smell out and I don't feel like it's reasonable to sell an item in that condition without a disclaimer and without an adequate attempt to launder it, which doesn't seem to have happened considering how much grossness came out in the wash.
However, I understand that vintage clothes can retain smells and dirt in a way that's hard to fix and that it kind of comes with the territory. I don't want to mess with anyone's business, but they have tons of good reviews and I can't help but feel like it should be mentioned. I'm not gonna give one star or anything, I was thinking like three? But I don't know if it's fair criticism for vintage sellers, so I thought I'd ask for some input here. Please let me know your thoughts!
