Did you discuss a plan to leave ENM before you started?

Title. Looking for advice from those who’ve tried ENM and realized it wasn’t for them. Haven’t tried it yet but in order to preserve my relationship with my partner I want to communicate and agree on a plan if it’s not working. Basics would be both need to be enthusiastic about the dynamic or we hold off until/if we are, how to deal with jealousy, good ground rules you set/wish you set. Any advice from the community? TIA.
