Context: my partner and I are working on opening our relationship and are figuring out our expectations. She is not comfortable dating as a couple or with threesomes due to the inherent power dynamic and the fact that she wants to do some things independently. However, I am not comfortable with solo dating/solo polyamory because I an autistic and need support for social ventures such as dating. Ultimately, we are hoping for some sort of KTP dynamic, and so we landed on swinging. However, I didn't realize that "swinging" refers pretty much exclusively to the sexual experience; even "soft swinging" is still sex. I am demisexual so would much rather date before having sex.
Is there any term for the principle of swinging, but going on romantic dates rather than having sex? Like, if we were to meet another interested couple, we could meet up all four together and then each go on separate dates with a person from the other couple. I want to be able to communicate with potential partners/couples the best I can!
