I have been getting to know a new guy over the last few weeks. I really, truly like him and I can see us building toward a more committed relationship long tern. We're both gay guys and we have specific sexual preferences. He said he's a "strict top" and I am a little more flexible with regard to my preferences. He expressed that he would want non-monogamy so that we both can both fulfill our sexual desires especially in the event that I want to "top" someone. I, however, am not comfortable with the notion of non-monogamy or introducing a third in our relationship.
He said he doesn't want non-monogamy forever and he really wants to be with me as he doesn't have emotional connections with his flings. Long term, I know that I would probably start to feel negatively about hookups.
I am inclined to take a step back but I am also inclined to see how the relationship evolves. Has anyone experienced this before?
