Hey everyone,
My partner and I took a bit of a pause to realign on some stuff in our relationship, and are discussing opening back up with a bit more intentionality.
Part of what she has learned from being open previously is that she leans more towards demisexual than anything else, doesn't matter gender, but the emotional connection really has to be there for the spark on several fronts.
However, part of why we stepped back last time was that she had a couple relationships where things got serious much more quickly than she expected or was ready for, and she's trying to figure out how to navigate keeping things lighter, while still being intentional and authentic to herself and her sexuality.
We've both said that full scale poly might be on the table in the future, but she's feeling a little frustrated feeling like she has to have a serious emotional connection in order to feel attraction, but isn't ready to jump right into that level of connection while navigating the early stages of a (newly re-opening) relationship.
Does anyone have any advice? Tips on how you navigated this in the past or when you first got started?
