For background, I (52F) am divorced, and have a 12yo. Started seeing my bf/primary (42M) 9-10 months ago. I don't want any kind of step-parent relationship but they have met and we've done 4 outings together (musical, bowling, swim, etc)
It's getting to be difficult not to see my bf for the entire time I have my kid (50/50), that was my original plan. Now I'm re-thinking it. So how do you handle it?
For context: My kid is emotionally more mature than his peers, we still speak openly about his needs and wants, even though we are months from teenager world. He's still my child, so some things will still be decided purely by me, but compared to his friends he is very reasonable and thoughtful. I would feel comfortable asking how he felt about bf being more present, to take it into consideration.
