Hi guys, i need some help explaining the blanket term enm to my partner. A lil background, when we started dating I told him that I was bi and poly and we kind of mutually agreed to be monogamous at first. As time went on things changed and we had some experiences with extra partners joining us. Now we are discussed other options that were both interested in that we feel would work for us. It would not be your typical open relationships or multiple partners type thing, more of just a mutual understanding of certain arrangements that were both 100% okay with. My partner seems to think that this would mean that we are open though a term that he doesn't like at all, how do I explain ENM versus your mainstream known open relationships that you see on TV and hear about more regularly.
