So I [45F] just got a break up text from a man Iā€™ve been seeing for the past month. We were vibing and it was very good. He had some red flags that were flapping in my face, but I was choosing to look past them. Fact is, he made me feel so beautiful and made me laugh so hardā€¦ so I gave it a shot. But I woke up to a text saying that he did indeed have a problem with me being married and didnā€™t want to continue. I did enjoy spending time with him, so i just have to admit it was a disappointment. Yet I understand completely. Most guys are hot for you at first, and say itā€™s totally alright that youā€™re poly. However, it eventually comes down to the fact that they canā€™t have ALL of you. Oh well, another one bites the dust. We hadnā€™t slept together, so we werenā€™t deep in. He also gave me closure by sending a clear, sincere and heartfelt breakup explaining his concerns which I really appreciated. So I hope that we can become friends in the future.

The weird thing about men is that I heard so many of them say they preferred to date young. Women their own age were too concerned with locking things down in marriage, and having kids asap before that window closed. They didnā€™t want to get trapped. I moved into poly/enm so excited because I wasnā€™t one of those desperate, needy women. I already had the husband, and the cute kidā€¦ as well as the home, money, dogs, etc. Itā€™s funny, because when you remove the need for those things and just want the love and companionship, men suddenly realize they donā€™t have that carrot to dangle anymore. They need the women they actually desire to ā€œneedā€ them so they can get a hook in. Men are able to get so much out of women through just the implication that they MIGHT give them a ring one day. Itā€™s a funny lesson to learn that most straight monogamous relationships work this way.

Anyway, moving on. I like this guy and itā€™ll be interesting to see if we can turn this into a friendship. Hell, maybe a FWB situation will happen. But Iā€™m not broken up about it. I enjoy dating and getting to know people. I feel whole, sexy, confident. I donā€™t need a guy, but do enjoy entertaining the men I feel a connection with. Life is good. Happy Friday yaā€™ll. šŸ˜˜
