First time poster here.

My wife and I have been together for nearly a decade and we have recently been exploring the idea of ENM. At this point, we are wanting to explore flirting outside of the two of us and seeing how that feels.

My question is, what is the best way to express this to the third party?

For instance, there is someone at our gym that my wife has had some flirty interactions with and he’s taken to coming over to chat with her now each day. Mostly about gym stuff but some personal things as well. It hasn’t come up yet that she’s married but should she tell him or wait for it to come up naturally? She doesn’t want him to feel embarrassed or to lose their vibe (which we know is a risk).

He does know she has a young kid and he commented how cute our kiddo is and how he personally doesn’t want kids. Shes brand new to the flirting game because we’ve been together since she was 18 and she’s never explored flirting or dating outside of high school . So she isn’t even positive he’s interested. This has been a huge boost to her confidence though, which I’m absolutely loving!

It’s important to us both that everyone’s feelings are considered but we aren’t sure at what point it’s brought up.

Eta: she doesn’t wear a ring to the gym due to the risk to it and her finger while working out. Seriously, don’t google degloving 🤢
