Hello! My husband and I have been using dating apps to find people to meet up with. He only met one connection. I’ve met up with 6 people, only a few went somewhere but no one has made it past 3 dates. Mainly where we are struggling is the safety and unknowns of meeting people online. I take the precaution of having my location on so my husband can keep track of me if something were to happen. The last guy I went on a date with sent up some red flags, no social media, wouldn’t tell me much personal information yet I wanted to give him a chance. The date went well but prior to meeting I had mentioned that one of my boundaries was not going back to someone’s place until I knew someone well.. (like 4 or 5 dates in my mind.) He said that was ok. Drinks went great, good conversation … when he walked me back to my car he asked me three times to go back to his place despite our prior conversation. It was a decent date but after I didn’t put out, our online conversation fizzled out. I don’t feel great about how things ended due to the pressure he was putting on me and the safety concerns of meeting strangers online. What are some additional safety precautions you take when meeting new people? Where do you find you have success meeting new partners? I’m in the Portland,OR area for reference 🙂
