Last year I spent two weeks in California visiting my best friend for the first time, and I dragged her on a roadtrip. While en route to Joshua Tree, we encountered the most jaw dropping sunset I had ever seen. I had long dreamt of visiting her out there because she had lived there for a few years and I never had the means to make it happen. But I was finally able to financially swing the trip, and since I was out there, I wanted to hop all around the state and see everything. Right as the sunset was at its peak, we began seeing silhouettes of Joshua Tree's with the gorgeous pink and orange sunset in the background. And at that moment, Thoroughfare came on shuffle. There was nobody l'd rather see the west with than my best friend. This moment was so visceral and meant so much to me.
