Post Body

Hi,

My father recently passed away. We were at the finish line for making payments, but our lawyer is a pain in the ass. I've been doing the majority of the work with my father mostly just signing the checks and papers.

My father had a brother who passed away before, and my aunt and cousin have been doing some shady things. I was unaware but my lawyer was providing information to them and now she's claiming that by state law my cousin and I should be co-executors. I don't want him involved. He can get his payment, but I don't want him or his aunt near this until they get their share.

Is this true? Is there no other option? My father did not have his own will, I am an only child.

I really just want to get this over with but I do not trust my lawyer. She's been dragging this case on since 2018.

Thanks for any help.
