I'm curious about gematria in Esperanto. In other words, I'm interested to know whether the gematria of any Esperanto words have been worked out, and if any numerical significances have been detected.
The Esperanto vikipideo entry here uses the word "gematrio." Is that correct? (I'm guessing "no" since it doesn't come up on vortaro.net. But given the predominance of Jewish Esperantists in the early history of this language, I'm certain there must be a word for this concept. It would be bizarre for such an Esperanto word not to exist, considering the astonishing number of bird species names, flora names, etc. that go waaayyy off the beaten path.)
Has anyone attempted to apply gematria to Esperanto before? Are there any books or papers on the topic?
Starting with the letter "ĉ", the numerical mapping of Esperanto differs from other languages using a Roman-based writing system. It could be interesting to look for significances.
