holly molly I am getting spanked on this. I just got it and I know I have tons to learn but man. I am playing on the "practice" mode, and I die each time. Mad respect for those of you who are just rocking this game.
It seems like this game you could literally end up with nothing left but your fists to go in and that scares the poop out of me. I'm not complaining as i knew what this game was, just wow. mad respect for you players that rock this game, i hope i stick with it because i can't make it 100 yards before getting smoked by the AI.
***UPDATE*** OMG the positive feedback, tips, encouragement from this community is just amazing. i solute you all o7, i was worried as an older gamer (not a COD run/gun) i would get flamed on for stupid comment/question. I am working through all the tips/comments but i wanted to add. All these comments really make me excited to keep trying on this very cool realistic game.
It's not that - it's literally running around on an empty map. All works as expected if I select tagged and cursed, though, which makes me think it's some kind of a bug. Happens on other maps as well.
Why would you practice on scavs easier then online? I’d practice against what I’m actually gong to fight.
If you're absolutely new to Tarkov, even 'easy' scavs can be hard if they outnumber you. Not an issue after a while - just something if you're just starting.
Horde mode just means there’s more of them so you don’t need to run around the map looking for them
In theory, yes, but in practice, I've noticed I see more scavs on 'high' than on 'horde' (unless I check tagged and cursed as well, which I don't recommend for new players. May be a bug, may be my bias.

I suggest going 'easy' difficulty with 'high' scav count, not 'horde' - for someone totally new to Tarkov, 'horde' can quickly become overwhelming, plus I'm pretty sure there's something broken with it.
