still new, but getting there. here's my loadout. i got all of it from scav runs and a few purchases from prapor

Putting food in your secure container is a waste - put something more valuable instead, like higher tier meds. Ex. Put a Calok-B for heavy bleeds there and ditch the esmarch from pockets, or aluminium splint instead of normal one in pockets.
You can find food everywhere - just check killed scavs' pockets, drawers, jackets etc.

Worth adding is, because Ratnik is only class 3 and thus won't stop any semi-decent bullet, there's next to no point in repairing it, and rely on its ricochet chance alone (which AFAIK isn't affected by durability)
