Post Body

Context: This is my 3rd wipe, I've got 203 hours in-game so far and have never had flea. I'm really trying to get it before the game wipes since I'm really close (lvl13) and wanna buy my friend a P90 as a surprise because it's his favorite weapon and we've only found 2 across our time playing.

I don't know if it's just late-wipe timing or if I'm not good enough yet, but if I so much as approach an area to fight something that isn't scavs, I usually get myself eviscerated by someone with a $100 copy of the game. Nothing against it, I understand getting EOD if this is your favorite game because it has amazing benefits. The thing is, I only seem to find these players, being killed by maybe 6 or 7 normal players across my 3 wipes, so I assume most of the people that play this game are very dedicated, creating a large skill gap.

The Tarkov Discord keeps telling me to "git gud", so how? I adore this game and it's fighting but it feels impossible to compete with skilled and/or kitted players without sitting in a bush for 30 minutes being a bored extract camper. I reckon it doesn't help that I don't have a lot of time to play games and I don't play only Tarkov, so I'm left with whatever BSG lets lvl1 traders have.

Focus on quests bro. There is enough loot related or pickup/deliver/mark to reach a decent level each wipe even if you don't play that much. I use them to xp boost till I can buy decent gear and mods at the traders to get more into pvp.

Also make sure to not waste your time. If all you do is raids where you avoid pvp yet you sit somewhere and play carefully without pve and looting, you'll never xp up to 15. You need to farm scavs in low trafic areas and try to make the most headshots to make up for your time spent in a raid. If all you get is raids with exploration and some loot xp up to 1000-1500 only there's a problem, you need more.

And if you wanna pve/loot only and not focus on pvp, night raids are the way to go. You'll see yourself in way much empty raids or with players like you rather than running upon juicy chads with thermals T6 armor and gpnvgs. With a good postfx settings and some gamma boost it's really playable at any point in wipe without nvgs. Scavs are blind and easy to find with their lights on in night time.

Learn quests, use them to learn maps, farm scavs, survive, this alone is enough to bring you to lvl 15 in less than 6 months.
