Something I've been thinking about and wanted to share with you guys.
Clearly the majority of the community is pissed about the recent changes (myself included) with ammo availability, things getting moved off the flea, etc. It's a pretty bad attempt by BSG to make the game more hardcore / items more scarce and obviously slow down progress in order to make wipes seem longer.
What if they took a completely different approach and made content locked behind fixed date ranges? For example, traders now are level locked and you get access to new stuff as soon as you hit e.g. lvl 15. This causes people to rush the game and level as fast as possible to get better gear.
What if that wasn't the case? What if for the first month of the wipe the traders are level 1 for everyone because of stuff that's happening in Tarkov lorewise (the area is locked off, stuff is hard to come by, etc.) Then, by the end of the first month everyone is competing with a similar level of gear and ammo, and just at the point where everyone managed to catch up, the second month begins and traders become level 2, increasing the amount of available gear, ammo types, etc.
You might argue, yes but won't stuff be stale literally after the first week if traders are level 1? Sure, but if you implement good daily quests and make logical events throughout Tarkov, constantly tweak boss spawn chances, etc., you can make every map worth visiting outside of the tedious and stupid quests we are forced to repeat every wipe.
Right now they're adding events like bosses roaming on other maps, raiders, etc., when we're nearing a wipe, but why is that? Why not make the game more dynamic throughout the wipe and slow down trader progress using the method described above.
What do you guys think about this idea? Obviously I could go in depth, but I wanted to keep the idea simple, I think you get the picture.
You prefer the feeling of unlocking them in 2 weeks and then crying 6 months for a new wipe?
