So I was very excited to go to work, the interview process was kind of harsh lots of test and interviews. I'm a second semester student of architecture and it is very difficult to find work as an early career student.

Other friends of mine applied to the job but I was the one selected and I felt very proud of my self to be honest. The job is in a small but very important design studio. So that morning I put on my best "executive looking outfit" I even bought heels.

And I got to the office really early, only the boss was there. I hadn't met him yet, I only new his name was Daniel, he carried himself in a very relaxed way but he had an aura that called for respect, I don't know how to explain it because he seemed so chill about everything. He welcomed me and call me to the office. He explained the job and told me that he didn't expected me to be great at first just to respect the work flow of the office while I was learning, he also told me that he specifically choose for my lack of experience because for him was better for me to learn in the office than the outdated stuff that they teach you in school. He was such a gentlemen and I dont why but when he speaked he trapped me and had all of my attention. The welcome was over and he told me to meet Pete and that he would explain to me further what I needed to do. So I did just that.

Pete told me to be careful of Daniel, he told me while he seemed relaxed he was really organized and strict with the way things were done and just to do the things exactly as I were told.

That day went by pretty fast and I learned more than I had learned the whole semester in school. My job was to organize the files and to check the design of the presentations while I was learning more complicated things.

All week I tried myself to do my best, at first the job seemed very chill but it was really demanding. Since the first day I hadn't talked much to Daniel, but I found myself trying to get his attention and ask him things, he always answered with something along the lines of "That's pretty simple ask Pete how it is done".

I was working in the final design of a presentation of a house for a very important client, just editing font sizes and colors, simple stuff. It was due Friday and it was Thursday, I finished just in time to leave because I had classes so I left and I didn't remeber to turn off the computer I was working on. Didn't seem important, but that simple detail would change everything.

It was late afternoon and I received a message from Pete saying "you messed up, Daniel needs to talk personally with you asap, return to the office. My heart dropped, I didn't knew what was wrong, plus I wasn't doing anything important, but I couldn't lose the job, my plan was to pay for the university myself. So i went rushing back to the office. Before entering I was so nervous, but Daniel seemed chill so I was wishing it wasnt as bad as my thoughts.

I entered and Pete told me to enter Daniel office. I entered, he was so concentrated in what he was doing. He didn't even talked to me for 15 min, I was just standing there so I asked "Do you want me to wait outside?" He just answered "No", the chill boss was gone, I was so so nervous and didn't new what to do, he didn't even told to me to sit or anything and the " No" was so comanding that I just stood there, after what felt like hours he said. "Pete told you I was organized right?" I answered "Yes did I did som-" "And he told you I like things done in a certain way" he interrupted, "Yes he did" his tone was so seriours I felt so tiny standing there. "Is it stupid to leave the most important file open and unsaved in a computer?" I couldn't speak I was just shocked, he felt so powerful at that moment, the way he completely changed was so confusing, finally I stutter "Im so so sorry" "But is it stupid?" He asked again. I don't know why but the way he just wanted me to admit it was stupid and to make me say it was so powerful and comanding. "Yes it will never happe-" "The file was lost is due tomorrow, at least I hope you recognize it was stupid so admit it" I was shocked and I felt that my dignity left my body cause I just answered "It was" "If you want to stay here you have to do things the way I tell you to do it, or you are gone, do you understand? "I understand" I said "Good, now leave please... Oh and don't let this demotivate you" What??? How can he sounded so chill after treating me like that, who does he think he is, f him. I was so mad of myself I've never let someone treat me like that, why did I follow along that, I should just leave and resign right and there. But at the same time I felt like he did me a favor of not firing me and I wanted to prove to him I was good.

I grabbed my bag and went home, when I finally arrived I was just so mad, I was even thinking to never get back to the office it was so unsfair, I just left the computer on. I was getting ready to sleep and I couldn't stop thinking how I felt when he treated me like that and how he seemed so powerful when he asked me questions and I felt a bit aroused, I got mad of myself for feeling like that and just started preparing my bag for school the next day. That's when i found a note that said:

"Be an hour early tomorrow and wear the heels you used the first day, this is how I like things done"
