What are your favorite, subtle, ways to affect a subs thinking

I'm looking for ideas of what other people do or have enjoyed from either perspective. What subtle ways,.over time, have you affected a subs thinking or desires? What type of influence?
Has it been more sexually based? Going from full coverage panties to thongs? Or being okay with certain words or activities?
I'm not looking for triggers suggestions necessarily but more long term influencing between a Tist and a trusting sub.
