I originally posted the following to r/hypnohookup, which is why it references a rule 10 that doesn't exist in this subreddit, but I figured I should share it here too, because people may not see it there or may need to be reminded of it here as well. Hope this resonates with all the tired tists out there who don't always get the respect they deserve:

If you message someone when you have literally 0 karma on reddit, 0 posts, 0 comments, and you do nothing to introduce yourself but say something like "Trance me, please" or "I want to be a Good Girl, Master" or any other variation, and you send 1 sentence/1 word responses and are low effort for the whole interaction, then it is not a conversation, and you are breaking rule number 10 of this sub-reddit. It is not excellent to act like I am wearing a red polo in target and you are the most recent conservative with a stick up their ass who wants to rant and rave and be angry at nothing for no reason. It is not excellent to be terse or act like the very fact that you want to get to go into trance makes you God's gift to all hypnotists everywhere, and "why on Earth wouldn't they want to immediately start a session with you without discussing basic safeties like triggers and limits, why on earth are they making you jump through so many hoops and not just dropping you already?!? Uuugh!" It is not excellent to treat your partner in a conversation like they are some kind of gumball machine or a jukebox. You don't just put in a quarter and keep cranking til you get what you want. You gotta actually remember that you are, like it not, a fully human person, and you are talking to another fully human person. And if you aren't able to handle that because you are so used to instant gratification that you don't have the patience for a 10 minute conversation before a session, then maybe you should just go back to watching porn alone and handle your situation yourself, and leave actual trance and kink communities to people who understand respect and consent and know how to play safely and will follow the rules and be excellent to each other.
