Why does changing your true name alludes to positive self-change?
Post Body

Haven't read Murtang so please no spoilers From what I remember, changing one's true name is always something positive, Sloan had to become a better person, Murtang had to change some bad aspects of his identity... Why? Couldn't they just become a worse version of themselves, wouldn't that change their true name?

Comments

Not better or worse, but different. Isn't that what Eragon told Murtahg?
