I’m pretty comfortable with nudity. Sometimes enjoy going to the Korean spas where it’s required. Very relaxing and freeing. After a workout I like hitting up the steam/sauna and feel more comfortable sitting on a towel but not wrapped around my waist as it can feel constricting. When I get the sauna or steam all to myself I definitely am completely nude. When someone comes in I might cover up or just leave it be. Haven’t gotten any annoyed stares that I’m aware of. If I get someone gawking I might cover up, but doesn’t bother me much unless there are sexual advances which I’ve had to kindly reject and guys are usually respectful after that.

I have noticed more often than not, guys are covered up completely. My last gym I’d say it was about 60/40 with more guys being completely nude vs covered up. At all the equinoxes in NYC that I’ve visited so far, most of the time I’m the only one nude. Noticed Sports Club location is more nude friendly with the whirlpool as vast majority of guys use it naked but cover up completely in steam/sauna. Overall, seems like guys aren’t very comfortable being nude, and I’m wondering if they might also be uncomfortable with my nudity. If that’s the case, is it their problem not mine, or am I being rude with using the facility naked? Also wondering if there are some locations in NYC that are more nude friendly than others.
