Shower Gnats

I’ve been a member at EQX HY for a few years and every few months, there’s an outbreak of flies/gnats in the showers. Anyone else notice this? For a luxury gym, I find this to be really gross. Never happened at NYC rec dept gym, planet fitness, or the showers at the sleepaway camp bunks when I was a kid. Why is it happening at a $400/mo gym?
