Is this a Saddle Blanket?

This blanket was purchased by my great-great-grandparents in the year 1912. It is a handmade Navajo blanket. It is very thick, heavy and more than likely made of goat wool. It is about 39 and a half inches wide and 64 in long. I've come to the conclusion that it very well could be a saddle blanket but I'm wondering if I can get any confirmation from people that know better than I.
