hi everyone -
question is pretty simple. how quickly can I progress riding 3x/week?
I found an amazing little lusitano mare with a working equitation trainer I really like. I feel so so lucky and have been dreaming about an opportunity like this for years. I could pinch myself.
long story short - I started dressage in my mid 20s and rode consistently for about two years before becoming very ill from lyme disease. I had to quit riding and only recently started up again.
outside of riding I do pilates, strength train, and trail running. admittedly I’m struggling to find a consistent schedule though, now that I’ve started riding again these past couple of months. my body is so sore lol.
with all this in mind, how quickly can I progress?? I’ll probably do 2-3 lessons per week and 1-2 hacks per week (or some mixture like that). sticking with 3 rides per week, maybe 4 if I can make it work (financially and time wise).
I’m just so eager to get started again and curious about what kind of progress I can make! as an adult, I sometimes feel like I’ll never be as good as those growing up in the saddle.
I just want to feel really solid and comfortable at all three gaits. I want to feel confident about my skills and in a variety of situations. I want to feel like a competent horsewoman. confident enough to sign up for clinics and go out on trail rides and maybe even do a show.
