Bits should only be used by people who know how to use them and understand the anatomy of a horse's head and mouth.
Beginners often pull on a horse's oral cavity by using a bit, which can cause severe damage to the animal.
In my opinion, hackamores should be used instead. They're less painful and overall a less stressful option for the horse.
