Hi. Disclaimer, I don't own my own horses, and I don't ride much. I'm not formally educated, but otherwise am very onto physiology and appropriate training of horses, and am making progress to getting more experienced and qualified in the field.
I've just seen a video of someone having their youngster backed... 2yo warmblood jumper, I'm not super sure what exact breed. But I know this person always rushes their horses, I've just never caught it directly. I realise it's none of my business realistically but I really want to say something. Are there any good research publications I could refer them to? I'm not sure of the duration of the ride, but the horse was ridden in a slow to moderate canter with the rider fully sitting in the saddle.
I don't know if maybe I'm overreacting. But I don't feel it's appropriate at all to start a horse so young let alone canter it with full gear and a decently tall rider on. Please advise! TIA ❤
