I have been taking lessons about 2 1/2 months and I absolutely love it. I rode my favorite lesson horse today and he is spunky but usually very sweet and wants to put his nose all over you. I had a new trainer today who recently started at my barn and when the horse would put his head towards her she would slap his head. She said he tries to bite her. She slapped him multiple times throughout the day. This made me uncomfortable and I didn't know if this is normal? Also when I brought him to the ring he bit me in my forearm. It wasn't that hard but did hurt. The lesson went great and he's really a sweetie so maybe he didn't want to do a lesson? I always take my time grooming him and letting him sniff all over me. He usually is very sweet to me and even will nuzzle his head into me. Unsure what to think of both situations. Maybe I am overthinking it because I'm so new to the horse world. FYI the bite did not bother or shake me in the least and he is still my favorite horse.
