So, my 17 year old QH gelding has always had the worst allergies and they have caused his head shaking syndrome. He's been allergy tested and is allergic to just about every bug and most grasses. We had everything under control until this week. It's been an abnormally warm fall in New Hampshire and this week his sweet itch came back with a vengeance. We noticed a large fluid filled bump on his chest, thinking it was an abscess from him rubbing on the wood fence. Last night however, within a few hours of being turned in, we went back to check on him and his entire chest, neck, underbelly and chin were covered in similar fluid filled bumps. We gave zyrtec to see if it would help and this morning all the bumps are gone. Has anyone ever dealt with this before? In the 10 years we have owned him he has never gotten bumps like this from allergies. We have a vet coming out in a few days.
