Everyone is scamming money, making biased decisions against people for money, angry in person and on the phone, and seems to only want people in their barn for recognition or money. Most of these trainers are untrustworthy people who will use you, abuse you (verbally and maybe even physically), and then act like they did nothing wrong and they’re right in everything they did. JEEZ. I recently called a hunter jumper barn to ask about their lesson program. I asked how many lesson horses so I know what the program is like—more leasers lessoning, or is lessoning on the school horses less common…. And I was greeted with a response “why does that matter?” harshly. Ummm, it’s clear why it matters. Why don’t you respond is the real question… I don’t think I’ve ever met a good, nice trainer in the H/J world. I’m appalled.
