Horse eating poo, wood, and dirt

Post Body

My horse started licking dirt probably 2 months ago as a once off thing. About two weeks ago he started ripping off bits of bark and eating it. Around the same time he started pawing at the ground to rip out grass and eat the dirt. He stopped eating dirt probably a week and a half ago and I fenced off the trees that he was eating and we had no issues until today when I caught him eating his own poo. He’s a 9yo tb, in 1 acre, plenty of grass and hay, and a horse companion. He’s got toys in his paddock. I don’t know why he’s started doing this and I don’t know what else to do. I’m changing his food around but I don’t know if that would be the issue. He’s getting 250g lucerne chaff (will change to oaten), 790g Hygain Trucare (cutting out of diet), 700g Johnsons Weightgain (increasing), Approx 700g Fibre beet (weight after soaking), as well as multivitamins that I’ll be taking out of his diet once I’ve run out, cen oil, and salt/electrolytes. He is out of work at the moment due to suspected arthritis/PODS (will soon be starting medication as recommended by vet), but previously was getting lunged 3-4x a week. He gets along really well with his paddock mate and she can be quite playful so I don’t think he’s bored. He’s had ulcers on and off since June and I suspect he still currently has mild ulcers, all known causes have been dealt with, I suspect he wasn’t getting treatment for as long as he needed to and I’m talking with my mum to try get more for him. I really can’t afford to call a vet again unless it is an absolute necessity, we literally only had them out on Monday and have already spent close to $3.5k on his vet bills in the last 6 months. What can I do about this and I do I get him to stop? I’ve owned him for a year with no issues like this. I’m so worried about colic
