Can having an instructor dislike you ruin your passion for horses and riding?

Post Body

I feel like my riding instructor really doesn't like me. She's very cold with me, rolls her eyes at me when I make mistakes or ask her to repeat something (I have hearing loss), she's never said anything encouraging to me and my God, I have no idea what her smile even looks like.

When I have private lessons with her, she is always on her phone. She will occasionally glance at me and tell me the next riding exercise and if I'm lucky, she'll throw a correction or two at me. She will leave me alone at the arena and come back after 5 or 10 minutes. She has her airpods on the whole time and doesn't pay any attention whatsoever.

I've never said anything because I'm rather shy and I don't wanna seem rude (also I'm kind of scared about how she's gonna react) but lessons just feel very underwhelming I guess. Unfortunately, I don't have the luxury of choice in this barn. It's this instructor or nobody.

So anyways, it appears I'm going through a "burnout phase". Could this be because of the instructor and how lessons go with her? I feel like it shouldn't matter because I'm there for the horses and to learn to ride, not for the relationship I jave with whoever teaches me.
