Why are most horse barns full of lying, cheating, unethical people?

Post Body

Iā€™ve been to 3 different barns. All of which for a long period of time. And itā€™s clear that they operate around the dollar sign. The first barn I was at scammed peopleā€™s money and lied about so many thingsā€”like reasons for people leaving, horses leaving, etc.ā€”to avoid the truth about them being scamming, horrible people. Iā€™m a hunter jumper rider and about to quit because these barns are ruining riding for me. I just want a chill place to ride at with good trainers. But it seems like most ā€œgoodā€ trainers are in it for the money and do not care about ethical, compassionate training.

Iā€™m at my third barn right now, and still notice red flags. What should I do?
