I’ve been to 3 different barns. All of which for a long period of time. And it’s clear that they operate around the dollar sign. The first barn I was at scammed people’s money and lied about so many things—like reasons for people leaving, horses leaving, etc.—to avoid the truth about them being scamming, horrible people. I’m a hunter jumper rider and about to quit because these barns are ruining riding for me. I just want a chill place to ride at with good trainers. But it seems like most “good” trainers are in it for the money and do not care about ethical, compassionate training.

I’m at my third barn right now, and still notice red flags. What should I do?
