Discipline Stereotypes Question

Post Body

In a lot of dog sports, you find that there are often a few specific types of breeds that are competing- agility has a ton of border collies and Australian shepherds, for example. Are there certain types of horses that are stereotypically found in one discipline? Nothing but QH's in the barrel racing signups, and so on. Do eventing and dressage and so on have just the same few breeds?

I was looking over a breakdown of the recent Olympics horses, and the German and Dutch breeds were overwhelmingly the most common. Is this the same all the way down to the level of regional competitions?
