Monday lunged the baby (by which I mean distinguished 14yo gentleman). All fine. Today, Wednesday, come to ride and see this. No active bleeding. No lameness. Didn’t feel swollen and no sign of tenderness while palpating. Let me pick his feet up fine. Had a nice easy walk trot canter with no sign of distress. But yikes. Yes I’m an over protective first time horse mom. But I really hated seeing him so mangled, even if he seemed fine and happy. Sprayed him down with bedadine and keeping him in the medical pen overnight. Will meet the barn manager tomorrow to see if there’s any issues with the fence in his pasture that might have done this. Anyone have any thoughts?
