flexible rubber bit

On the advice of several trainers (my own and a few outside eyes at a recent show) I am moving my mare from an egg butt snaffle to something with more leverage. A kimberwicke bit was suggested. I found this cool rubber bit that I thought might be a good compromise for a young mare. Has anyone used these rubber bits? Are they any good? Thanks!

Goals: soften to aids and pull less. Compromise: If rubber bits do what they say they do, moving from an eggbutt snaffle to a Kimberwicke would be a less dramatic transition if bit was flexible and rubber.
