Does epilepsy affect learning ability?
Post Body

My son (7) had his first seizure in July and has had 4 in total since. He’s never really liked going to school, but this year has been especially tough for him as far as learning new material and keeping up in school. His 2nd grade teacher has noticed that he’s usually distracted when taking tests (timed) as well as taking a little longer grasping new material being taught. He’s always been a good student but his test scores this year have been lower than average, to where his mother thinks that he might have a learning disability.

I was wondering if any other parents of young children with epilepsy have seen any changes in the way their kids learn or the kids’ desire to learn while in school.

TIA
